The Science

Dynamic Unweighting

Lite Run uses dynamic unweighting technology to reduce the amount of body weight a patient must support during therapy. By redistributing a portion of the patient’s weight onto Lite Run’s proprietary walker, the system can reduce effective body weight by up to 50%. The Lite Run system is also fall-proof making walking, standing, and balance activities safer and more achievable early in recovery. The sit-to-stand feature makes it easier to safely transition patients from a bed or wheelchair into a standing position.

Specially Designed Suit

Patients wear specially designed pressurized pants that allow full freedom of movement while providing support where it’s needed most. The suit is engineered to maintain flexibility at the joints, so patients can bend, step, and move naturally throughout therapy. This design enables upright activity and gait training without restricting motion or interfering with proper movement patterns. Straps on the suit securely connect to the walker, providing fall-proof support throughout therapy.

Pressurized Lift

Lite Run creates lift using controlled air pressure inside the suit. As air pressure increases, it generates an upward force that effectively takes weight off the patient, similar to how water supports the body in a pool. Therapists easily set the desired level of unweighting using an intuitive touchpad, allowing precise, real-time adjustments throughout a session. The system continuously monitors and balances forces to provide smooth, consistent support as patients move.

Comfortable, Natural Therapy

Because Lite Run is stable and supportive, patients can begin walking and standing therapy sooner than traditional methods allow. Patients are able to use their arms, legs, and core to walk as they normally would. As strength, confidence, and balance improve, therapists gradually reduce the amount of unweighting, helping patients progress toward independent walking in a comfortable, controlled way.
